Hello, I'm Maeve Bassett

MAEVE /ˈMEꞮV/

(RHYMES WITH CAVE)

I'm an Applied Ethnobotanist, which so far has been the best way to describe my work, passion, and experiences in a concise way.

In short: I love learning about the history of plants and applying that history to contemporary problems and discussions.

One of the best things about this focus is the wide range of people I meet, stories I get to hear, and industries I can apply my knowledge and skills to. So far, I have worked in: refugee resettlement, art museums, research, Chinese tea, and public education, including my current position at the San Antonio Botanical Garden.

My ultimate goal is to work in botanical gardens, museums, or related fields, either directly or through consultation.
